Eligibility: This free art exhibition is open to adult (18 and older) artists in Iowa.

The show will be classified and hung in two categories: Professional & Nonprofessional

Professional Artists: Artists who make a living by commissions and sales of their own original artwork. Artists who have had their original artwork accepted in two (2) or more juried exhibitions, such as the Des Moines Art Festival, Exhibit at Heritage Gallery, or the Iowa State Fair. Artists teaching classes in studio art or employed in any arts related field.

Nonprofessional Artists: Artists who do not qualify under the above.

Rules

Entirely original two-dimensional paintings, drawings, mixed media, water color, fiber art, and fine art prints (screen, intaglio, relief and lithography) that meet exhibition guidelines may be submitted. No reproductions, computer art, giclee, photographs or multi-panel works will be accepted.

Each artist may submit only one work meeting the following criteria:

Entry may not be larger than 34" wide x 50" in length vertically including the frame.

• Entry may not weigh more than 25 pounds

• Entry must be framed or have folded canvas edges and be wired for hanging. Clips and saw tooth hanging are not allowed. Wiring must pass the strength test.

• Artwork must be completed and dried before submission.

• No artwork may be submitted a second time.

Awards

Professional and Nonprofessional categories.

• First Place: $150

• Second Place: $125

• Third Place: $100

• Honorable Mention: Certificate

Sales

Works sold during the exhibit will be assessed a fee of 25% of the purchase price by the Des Moines Women's Club. Credit/Debit card purchases will incur a 5% fee. Mark artwork NFS if not for sale.

Insurance

The DMWC assumes no responsibility for the entries. Every measure and possible care will be taken in handling all works submitted. Artists desiring to insure their work must make their own arrangements. Submission of an entry to the exhibition indicates agreement on the part of the artist.
