The Des Moines Women’s Club is delighted you are applying for this scholarship.

Please complete all sections of the application by January 26, 2024, to be considered for an award. Recipients will be notified by March 11, 2024.

General Information

Applicant must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a college, university, or technical/vocational school pursuing a degree in art or a related field.
Applicant may only apply for one Des Moines Women’s Club scholarship per year.
Applicant must be a legal resident of or a registered student in Polk, Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, or Warren County.
Only complete applications, including references, will be considered.
The scholarship recipient is requested to attend the DMWC Scholarship Award Program and Luncheon on April 17, 2024.
The scholarship award will be sent directly to the winning recipient’s selected school upon verification of registration and shall be applied toward tuition for the 2024-2025 school year.

Statement

Applicant must include a short statement (maximum of 300 words) including biographical information, art related activities and awards, and your career plans following the completion of your degree.

Applicant must send three professional letters of with their contact information to the Des Moines Women’s Club office at dmwclub@hoytsherman.org. Please have them include include your name and Shirley and Kenneth Smith Memorial Art Scholarship in the subject line.
